• Establishing sources of venture capital through the establishment of Finance Cornwall and Finance South West • Helping develop quality tourism

• Facilitating the development of ICT infrastructure (information communications technology) through the establishment of “Act Now” in Cornwall and “Broadband 4 Devon”

• Skills Development through leading key partnerships, particularly with reference to Dartmoor Prison

• Development of affordable housing

• Supporting the Mackay Vision for Plymouth
